Privacy Policy

CareNest · Last updated: 6 September 2026

CareNest helps families coordinate care for a loved one — medications, appointments, tasks, and updates — in one shared private space. Because that involves health information about someone you love, we keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the app.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share health information with third parties for their own purposes.

Information we collect

How we use it

AI processing

When you scan a medication label or ask CareNest to explain a visit, the relevant image or note is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to extract the details or produce a summary. This happens through our secure server — the request is processed to return your result and is not used to train models. AI output can be imperfect: always check it against the original label or your clinician's instructions.

AI requests are limited per care circle (30 a month on a paid subscription, 5 during the free trial), and we record only a count of requests made — never the content of what you scanned or wrote.

Where your data lives

Data is stored in our hosted database (Supabase) and protected by row-level security, meaning only members of your care circle can read your circle's data. Documents are held in private storage that requires authentication to access.

Sharing

Your care information is visible only to people you invite into your care circle. We use service providers — Supabase (hosting and database) and Anthropic (AI processing) — strictly to operate the features described above.

Subscriptions

CareNest Premium is billed through your Apple ID. We never see or store your payment details; Apple handles all transactions.

Your choices and rights

Children

CareNest is intended for adults coordinating care. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Not medical advice

CareNest is an organizational tool, not a medical device. It does not provide diagnosis or treatment advice. Always follow the guidance of qualified healthcare professionals.
